One of the most important and valuable free tools you can get is accounting software. There are two really good products out there. Systems online and Compiere. Systems online is recommended for businesses with revenues from $0 to $12 million or a large investment that allows for complex integration that may be required and Compiere is recommended for businesses with revenues of $2 to $20 million. With Compiere you should also plan on having a dedicated Accountant if not a fulltime one. Systems Online is much like a Quickbooks competitor and can be compared with almost equal in functionality with a few exceptions. If you have others comment me.
